My journey into photography was unexpected, but looking back, it feels inevitable. Even as a child, I was fascinated by old photographs. My grandmother kept albums filled with images from her own childhood and her eight children, and I remember being amazed that she had preserved so many memories. That love for holding onto life’s fleeting moments has stayed with me ever since.

When my first child’s birthday was approaching, I knew I wanted more than a quick cell phone snapshot. I bought my first camera and photographed his cake smash session right in our dining room. While those images weren’t technically perfect, they captured my little boy at one year old—and they sparked my passion for child photography.

I dove into learning everything I could about using my camera and mastering light. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a new challenge would come along, and I’d throw myself into learning all over again. Through trial and error, mentorship, and countless hours of practice, I grew into a professional photographer serving wonderful families here in the Upper Peninsula.

Outside of photography, I’m lucky to share life with my amazing husband, our four kids, and three awesome stepkids. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and they are my biggest inspiration. Beyond photography, I enjoy sipping my morning coffee (mostly for the creamer), soaking up beach days, gathering around a bonfire with s’mores and classic rock, working on DIY projects, and unwinding with a good murder mystery.

My love for family, creativity, and simple joys shapes how I approach photography. For me, every session is about more than just beautiful images—it’s about capturing connection, joy, and the little moments you’ll want to hold onto forever. I may have started out as “just a mom with a camera,” but today I’m proud to be so much more: a photographer dedicated to preserving your most meaningful memories.
